About Me

Shizza Majeed is an award-winning London-based photographer working across portraiture and documentary photography. Storytelling sits at the heart of her practice, using playful and visually striking imagery to explore themes of culture, identity and heritage, with a particular interest in the South Asian diaspora.

Shizza’s work is often influenced by her own experiences, her family and the everyday stories that surround her. Through photography, she creates images that feel personal and familiar while opening up conversations around the shared experiences that connect us.

Her series Babaji’s Britain gained recognition in 2025, featuring in Autograph ABP’s online gallery, with selected works displayed on a billboard in Old Street, London. Through this work, she was awarded the Madiha Aijaz Prize for a young photographer of promise at the Royal Over-Seas League Photography Awards 2025, shortlisted for the British Journal of Photography’s Portrait of Britain Vol. 8, and named a finalist for the Association of Photographers Emerging Talent Award 2025. The project was later supported by Counterpoints Arts, leading to further recognition, and is currently being exhibited across the UK for Refugee Week in collaboration with BUILDHOLLYWOOD.

Her work has appeared in The British Journal of Photography, Amateur Photographer, Hyphen Online and Source Magazine. Most recently, she was one of five recipients of the William Morris Art Futures Bursary Award.
